Home Fix Cost Guide is a free site. We pay for the research and writing in two ways, described here in plain terms.
Display advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense and other advertising networks. We are paid based on ad impressions and clicks. We do not choose the individual advertisers, and advertising has no bearing on our cost figures or recommendations. Ads are labelled and kept separate from article content and navigation.
Home-services referrals
Some pages include a form or link to request estimates from local contractors through a partner service. If you request estimates that way, we may receive a referral fee from the partner. You are never charged for using it, and requesting estimates is always optional. Where such a link or form appears, we disclose the relationship right next to it.
What this does not change
- We do not raise or lower a price range to favour a partner.
- We do not recommend a contractor, brand, or product in exchange for payment.
- We do not cover — or avoid covering — a topic because of an advertiser or partner.
